Rent a bike from us - We'll make it easy
Most people, if possible, prefer to bring and ride their own bike on a multi-day bike tour. That is the "default setting" for our tours -- our trailers are equipped to carry fifteen bikes each, along with guests' luggage, rolling coolers for beverages & snacks, bike tools and repair stand, and lots of other support equipment.
E-bikes -- as long as they are Class 1, Pedal-assist ONLY -- are welcome on our tours, as long as they weigh less than 50 lbs. with the battery removed and have tires less than 2.2" or 55 mm wide, AND you are experienced at riding it. As of 2026, Senior Cycling does have E-Bikes for rent (see below).
If you're going to fly to the site of tour, it's expensive and inconvenient -- if not impossible -- to bring your own bike. Fear not; Senior Cycling has a fleet of well-maintained standard hybrid bikes for our rentals, most of them are Trek FX or FX2, or Trek Verve 2 or 3, while our helmets are new Smith Persist models (see representative pics below). Usually around half of our guests bring their own bikes, while the rest rent one from us.
- Both Standard and Step-thru frames are available, in various sizes.
- Just provide your height and frame style preference during registration
- Helmet, a waterproof pannier and a cable lock are included with rental
- Cost is $150 per bike per tour
- Select Bike Rental or E-Bike Rental as an Add-On-Option at time of registration
Yes, as of 2026, Senior Cycling has E-bikes available for rent. Due to their (much) higher capital cost and maintenance requirements, the cost is $400 per bike per tour. If you'd like to rent an E-bike, contact Ned prior to registering for the tour by email: ned@seniorcycling.com. You must have experience riding an E-bike prior to renting one from Senior Cycling; that's part of what we will discuss when we get in contact.
